The media has been trying and make a story out of Obama’s low Hispanic vote turnout. They assume that since he lost the vote in many states, that he will lose the vote in Nov. I can not emphisis how stupid of an argument this is. We’ve seen the argument made with "whites," until Obama won the demographic in Oregon, only after winning Iowa, Wisconsin, Utah, Washington... you get the idea. Once again the media isn’t doing it’s job of conducting journalistic research. Here’s what the real story is on Obama and the Hispanic vote.
McCain is in BIB TROUBLE! While the polls coming out for the General Election match-up are real early, I’ve been looking at the demographic breakdowns. Here is some good news for Obama
According to a PPIC.org California Poll conducted in mid May Hispanics favor Obama by a 49% margin
O: 69%
M: 20% Poll had a 2,003 sample, all races included, MOE 2% (very very nice sample with low MOE)
According to a SurveyUSA New Mexico Poll conducted in mid May, Hispanics favor Obama by a 11% margin
O: 51%
M: 40% Poll had a 600 sample, all races included, MOE 4.1% ( I expect this to grow with Obama making this a battle ground and Richardson canvassing the state in the months to come)
The latest poll out of Colorado issued by Rassmussen has Obama winning, but the crosstabs are only available to paying members. I assume that he must be at least pulling even with him in CO or perhaps wining the vote if he is currently winning the state.
Also to be noted Obama is winning the Hispanic vote in
PA
O: 82%
M: 17%
VA
O: 64%
M: 32%
IA
O: 55%
M: 40%
Although these states have small Hispanic populations.
Here is an ad Obama has up in Puerto Rico. This type of ad will go a long way in CA, NM, CO, NV, TX, and NJ. Bush gained points by attempting to speak the language. Obama will earn those points too.
Here is an ad that McCain had up over Memorial Day. It was discussed on the Hispanic/Latino blogs and deemed to be ineffective. He doesn't understand that Hispanic families want this war to end as much as the rest of the nation.
McCain doesn't understand that it was his party that made the Hispanic communtiy a political football. We have not forgotten. --------------------------------------
Get the word out that Obama is winning the demographic. Don't let the MSM create a story out of nothing or one based on where the demographic went in the primary. This is a new election and McCain is the one with the Hispanic problem.
